I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients and on reducing their suffering. We all have behaviour we wish to change, losses we need to grieve and recover from, relationships we wish to improve and manage, and families and caregivers who have left us a legacy of their influence, for better or worse. We have ideas about how life should be lived: standards, ethics, hopes, dreams. Managing our feelings and building our communication skills are vital processes that continue throughout our lives as we encounter new circumstances. A secure and confidential counselling environment can help so much in healing and self-development. I believe that warmth, empathy and humour are also very important in counselling.
